Moving folders

You can move folders by changing the parent folder path. For example, you may want to move an existing folder if the folder hierarchy changes or change the path if you selected the wrong parent for a new folder.

You can also drag folders to other folders in the Folders list window.

Keep the following in mind:

  • You cannot move a public folder to a different parent folder if you do not have permission to modify the parent folder. You also cannot move a folder to a locked folder, which is indicated by a lock icon. See Managing access to folders.
  • Test case suite folders can only contain other test suite folders, and test run suites can only contain other test run suite folders. You can add test case and test run suite folders to other folder types.

1. Click Browse next to the folder path when you are adding or editing a folder.

The Browse for Folder dialog box opens.

2. Select the folder to add or move the folder to.

3. Click OK.

The folder path is updated.

4. Click Add or OK to save the changes.

The folder is added or moved to the selected parent folder.
