Experience a new look and feel
P4 Plan now has a brand new look to match the product rebrand in the 2025.1 release. We updated the user interface with new icons, new product names, and a new color scheme. If you missed it last release, you can read more about the recent brand updates in the Re-Introducing P4 blog.
Find product information with the new AI-powered search
On the main page of the P4 Plan documentation site, you can now enter a question to get an AI-generated answer. Answers combine content from the current version of the product documentation and the Perforce knowledge base. This new search experience helps you locate information more efficiently.
View the sprint backlog in a tree view
The sprint backlog now includes a tree view, which displays sprints and their items in a structured list. This serves as an alternative to the board view. When using the tree view, you can also create new items and edit existing ones using the sidebar.
P4 integration enhancements
The P4 integration has the following enhancements:
- Markdown format is now supported in changelist descriptions.
- P4 Plan now remembers which changelists are associated with an item.
- Comments in P4 Plan now include information about which stream the changelist belongs to.
- P4 Plan tasks are now added to committed changelists.
- An error message now appears when you try to add a task to the default changelist or multiple changelists.
Set more default values in pipelines
You can now set more default values in pipelines. When you create or edit a pipeline, you will now see the Default values option, which opens a new dialog box where you can set the following values:
- Assigned to
- Custom droplist columns
- Custom people columns
- Custom text fields
- Duration
- Estimated days
- Points
- User story
- Work remaining
When you apply a pipeline to an item, any set default values are automatically used.
Display an average line in charts
You can now display an average line in bar, line, and area charts. This line shows the average of all values that are currently visible in the chart. If you make any changes to the chart, the average line will automatically adjust to reflect them.
Copy and paste reports between projects
You can now copy reports from one project and paste them into another.
To upgrade the web client, refer to the P4 Plan User Guide. To upgrade the native client, download the latest version on our downloads page.
In P4 Plan 2025.1, we changed the product name to P4 Plan. This release also introduced customizable boards and the ability to update projects to the web client. It also expanded bug tracking and the admin view within the native client.
