You might have noticed that Perforce has a new look and a new logo that reflects our place in DevOps workflows. As part of these changes, Hansoft is now P4 Plan, highlighting both its integration with Perforce P4 and its availability as part of the P4 Platform. While the product interface retains the Hansoft branding in this release, name updates and new icons to align with the P4 branding will be rolled out in a future update. New Features in the Web Client
Access and Update Projects
Users can now navigate their projects in the P4 Plan (formerly Helix Plan) Web Client, a feature previously only available in the native client. This update is especially helpful for teams that have users working in both the native and web client, giving everyone a live view of their projects.
Customizable Boards
P4 Plan users can also visualize projects in a Custom Board view, with the ability to create custom columns and easily moving tasks to match their workflow. P4 Plan remains fast and responsive, no matter how many tasks are in the project.
Updates made to Custom Boards in the client are also reflected in the native client, giving users one joint view.
New Item Details Side Panel
The item details side panel is now accessible in the web client, providing easy access to comments, columns, and more, based on your preferred setup.
New Features in the Native Client
Expanded Admin View
Previously, admins could only see their license expiration date in the Server Admin Tool. Now, admins get a comprehensive overview of their licenses, with details such as active users, license availability, license server status, and more.
Enhanced Bug Tracking View
In this highly requested feature, we've added the ability to set estimate days and Points to bugs, similar to how you plan features in P4 Plan's Product Backlog.
To upgrade your web client, refer to the Helix Plan User Guide. To upgrade your native client, download the latest version on our downloads page.
In Helix Plan 2024.3, we introduced email-subscription tracking for reports—giving users the ability to set their preferred update cadence and subscribe other team members to these updates.
In Helix Plan 2024.2, we made several improvements to the web client—including the ability to view and modify reports.
