Webhooks

Webhooks enable you to integrate P4 Plan with external services, such as Jira. With webhooks, you can connect P4 Plan with external applications and services, and notify them when specific actions and events occur.

Webhooks are created and managed in the web client, but webhook events will also trigger for updates made in the desktop client.

All users can create links with webhooks, but you must be an administrator to create and manage webhooks.

You can access the webhooks panel by clicking your user name in the P4 Plan toolbar and selecting Webhooks. Here, you can see all existing webhooks along with their current connection status indicated by a colored icon:

  • Green - The webhook is able to connect.
  • Yellow - The connection is currently being established. This usually indicates a delay and requires no action.
  • Red - The webhook is not connected.
  • To establish the connection, you should check that the webhook settings and authentication details are correct. See Editing a webhook for more information.

If the connection still does not work, check that the P4 Plan web API and integration services are running correctly. See Installing and configuring the P4 Plan web client for more information.

There are two types of webhooks you can create:

  • Jira webhooks - Enables you to connect P4 Plan items with Jira work items.
  • Custom webhooks - Enables you to create custom integrations to send updates about P4 Plan item updates.
