Jira webhooks
Jira webhooks integrate P4 Plan with a Jira instance, which enables you to share information between the applications.
Only administrator users can create webhooks, but all users can create links using established webhooks. Using the web client, you can search for Jira items and link them to items in P4 Plan.
Once a link is established, you can see information about the linked Jira item, including its status, description, and who it is assigned to. When a linked item is updated, the webhook automatically sends this information to the connected Jira work item, where the change appears as a comment.
Use the following steps to create a Jira webhook:
1. Click your user name in the toolbar and select Webhooks from the drop-down menu.
The Webhooks panel appears.
2. Click Add new.
3. The Add new webhook interface opens.
4. Set the Type to Jira Cloud.
5. Use the Project drop-down menu to select one or more projects to use with the webhook.
6. Enter a Name for the webhook.
7. Enter a URL for the webhook.
8. Use the Webhook events drop-down menu to select which events should trigger the webhook to connect with the linked Jira instance.
9. Provide a Jira user email.
10. Provide a Jira API key.
For more information on API tokens, see the Atlassian documentation.
11. To activate the webhook, tick the Active check box.
12. Provide an optional Description to explain the webhook's purpose or other information.
13. Click Create.
The webhook appears in the Webhooks panel and all users in the selected projects can use it to create links.
