How to Create a Read-Only Table Representation
The default behavior of Rogue Wave Server Studio is to add a collector attribute to a table representation automatically if possible. If a collector exists in a table representation, it is possible to add (or delete) rows in the representation, for example by attaching a table gadget and using the insert row of the table gadget. If the table representation is meant to be read-only, you must remove the collector attribute from the Edit Table Representation Properties dialog box. To do this:
1. Select the row that contains the collector by clicking on the row marker to the left of the row.
2. Press the Delete key.
You can restore the collector at any time. All you have to do is re-enter the line as it was initially.
Removing the collector does not make the table read-only, because, although no rows can be removed nor added to the table, users can still change cells in the table if they are editable.
If you wish to stop any updates in a table, you must set any attached data source-aware gadgets as read-only using the appropriate inspector for the gadget.
