Launching the Demonstration on Windows

To launch the Network application, first start the Network object server as explained in the previous section.

1. If necessary, start the logical mapper tcpd.

Refer to “Executing the Object Server on Windows”. for instructions.

2. Go to the directory %ILSHOME%/demo/network1/server/%SYSTEM%.

3. Type the following command to start the Network object server:

network -ilsn my_network -ilsr network.ls


Note: If you use the file network1.bat that comes with the demo, the name of the server you launch is network1. In that case, replace my_network by network1 in the steps below.

4. Once the server is running, invoke the Server/Views predefined component application by typing the following command (or by double-clicking on the executable):

%ILSHOME%\bin\%SYSTEM%\swcomp.exe

You can also select Component from the Start menu.
