What You Will Find in these Release Notes
These Release Notes give detail on the topics summarized in the Highlights box. We recommend you read them before you start working with Rogue Wave® Server 5.1.
The Release Notes are divided as follows:
*Licensing draws your attention to the licensing scheme for Rogue Wave Server 5.1.
*New C++ Classes and Changes to Existing Classes provides a list of the changes to the Rogue Wave Server 4.2 API, classified as follows:
*New Types: Type definitions, callbacks, and classes that have been added, changed or removed
*New Member Functions and Changes to Existing Functions: Member functions that have been added, changed or removed in existing classes, on a class-by-class basis
*Miscellaneous Changes
*In Rogue Wave Views Script API, you will find a table that shows the new Rogue Wave Server Script API, namely a new class and new methods and properties to existing classes.
*New Java Data Sources briefly introduces the three new Rogue Wave Server Java data sources that are part of the predefined Server/Java mapping.
*Ports lists the environments on which Rogue Wave Server 5.1 is no longer supported.
*Backward Compatibility tells you what you need to know about compatibility issues if you are upgrading from Rogue Wave Server 5.0.
*Changes to the Documentation indicates how the Reference Manual and User’s Manual have changed to document the new features and their API, when applicable.
