Rogue Wave JViews Maps Sample: Reading DTED Files

This sample shows how to read and use DTED data using the API.
How to Use the Sample
- Select the DTED Layer and change the style of the background image layer (change the brightness, color map, and so on).
- Move the mouse pointer above the terrain to see the altitude and location.
- Select the open DTED button and chose a directory to load.
This feature is not available in Applet mode.- Without load-on-demand, wait for the load to complete to see all the data loaded.
- With load-on-demand, the tiles are loaded when necessary - you can zoom in or out and watch the data being refined.
How to Run the Sample as an Application
This sample can also be run as an application. The installation directory contains an executable JAR file, dted.jar, that allows you to execute the sample with a double click from a file browser. Note that if you are using Internet Explorer, you can open the installation directory and execute the JAR file from the browser. This technique may not work in other Web browsers.
Alternatively, you can run the sample application from the command line. First check that the Ant utility is properly configured. If not, see the instructions on how to configure Ant for Rogue Wave JViews.
Then, go to the installation directory of the sample and type:
ant run
