Incompatibilities

• All JViews product jars are now signed. This can result in a SecurityException if your application has classes in the same ilog.* packages as the JViews library. You can either repackage your application so that it no longer shares packages with JViews or you can remove the signatures from the JViews jars. These are the ILOGKEYS.* files in the jars' META-INF directory.

General Changes

• The license management mechanism has been replaced by a mechanism to declare the used feature set. Before you can use a certain feature such as Maps or Gantt, your application needs to enable that feature once by using the API of ilog.views.util.IlvProductUtil. An additional keys.jlm license file is no longer needed. Before deployment, use of jlmdeploy is no longer needed either. The jlmdeploy tool has been removed.
• The ability to import and display data from IBM Informix and IBM DB2 spatial databases.
• Scroll bars can now be enabled for the JSF map view. A new progressive zoom effect on this view can also be activated by the API.

ilog.views.maps.IlvMapInputStream

• Overview of new features:
  • A simplified constructor is provided to make reading data from a distant URL easier. This constructor finds and deals with the possible image file associated with the IVL.
• New constructors:
  • IlvMapInputStream(URL): Creates an IlvMapInputStream from an URL.

ilog.views.maps.IlvMapUtil

• Overview of new features:
  • A new method is available to retrieve string resources for a Locale different from IlvSwingUtil.getDefaultLocale().
• New methods:
  • getString(Class, String, Locale): Returns the resource string for this key in the Locale specified.

ilog.views.maps.IlvUnit

• Overview of new features:
  • Units now have a localized name, that is retrieved from a Locale-dependent property bundle
• New methods:
  • getLocalizedName(Locale): Returns the local name of the unit.

ilog.views.maps.export.SDOConnectionPanel

• Overview of new features:
  • A set of new methods provide more control on the panel content. This is used in the Map builder, for example, to save and restore the last connection parameters when the user exits the application.
• New methods:
  • getDriver(): Returns the jdbc driver.
  • setDriver(String): Changes the jdbc driver.
  • getHostName(): Returns the host name.
  • setHostName(String): Changes the host name.
  • getHostPort(): Returns the port on the host machine.
  • setHostPort(String): Changes the port on the host machine.
  • getPassword(): Returns the password.
  • setPassword(String): Changes the password.
  • getSid(): Changes the database ID.
  • setSid(String): Changes the database ID.
  • getUser(): Returns the database user.
  • setUser(String): Changes the database user.
  • isConnected(): Indicates whether or not the panel is connected to Oracle.
  • isModelChoiceVisible(): Indicates whether the model choice is available.
  • setModelChoiceVisible(boolean): Sets the model choice visibility.
  • setFileChooser(JFileChooser): Sets the file chooser used to select the layer, in order to rescan the directory when the SDO model type is changed.

ilog.views.maps.filters.IlvSplitFeatureFilter

• Overview of new features:
  • Since changing case can be Locale-dependent, some methods now give the developer control on the Locale to use.
• New methods:
  • getLocale(): Returns the locale used to call String.toLowerCase(Locale) before comparing string values.
  • setLocale(Locale): Changes the locale used to call String.toLowerCase(Locale) when comparing string values.

ilog.views.maps.format.IlvMapLoader

• Overview of new features:
  • Since changing case can be Locale-dependent, some methods now give the developer control on the Locale to use when comparing file extensions for most data source types.
• New methods:
  • getFileLocale(): Returns the locale used to call String.toLowerCase(Locale) when comparing file extensions.
  • setLocale(Locale): Changes the locale used to callString.toLowerCase(Locale) when comparing file extensions.

jvmf:mapView

• New attributes:
  • progressiveZoom: Enables or disables the progressive zoom effect of the view.
  • scrollBars: Enables or disables scroll bars of the view.

Example Changes

• Every sample and code sample source code declares the feature set that it uses.
• Most samples have been slightly modified to better support localized versions.
• A new "ibmdb" sample shows how to connect and retrieve data from IBM databases.
• The Map Builder now includes support of IBM databases. Database connection parameters are now saved in the preferences file. The visible map area is saved in the map file, and will be reused when you load the same map again.
• The JSF demonstration makes use of the new scroll bar capabilities.
