Running the Designer
You can run the Designer from Windows® or UNIX ® operating systems. The startup conditions are the same in both cases.
To run the Designer under Windows
*In the Start menu, select All Programs>Rogue Wave JViews Diagrammer 9.1>Designer.
Rogue Wave® is the default program group and might be different if you have installed JViews Diagrammer into a different group.
-- or --
1. Go to the directory <installdir>/jviews-diagrammer/bin/designer.
2. Double-click run.bat.
To run the Designer under UNIX
1. Go to the directory <installdir>/jviews-diagrammer/bin/designer.
Make sure that your PATH environment variable is set correctly to find this directory.
2. Enter run.sh.
When you start the Designer, it opens with the New Diagram Wizard displayed as if you had chosen File>New from Wizard. You can close the wizard if you do not want to create a diagram as proposed. You can also enable or disable the opening of the wizard on startup from its first page.
Outside the wizard, the way the Designer operates depends on the mode it is in. You can see the current mode in the title bar, and you can change the mode by using the buttons in the vertical toolbar. For a discussion of modes, see Working in different modes.
