Terrain Analysis for Defense
When planning a mission, equipment and troop placement is extremely important. Questions like "Where are the invasion corridors?" and "Where should troops be placed to protect an invasion corridor?" require a detailed view of the terrain. Terrain Analysis features are designed to visualize topographical data accurately.
With a few mouse clicks, a user can create a line-of-sight chart to check whether troops and equipment are correctly positioned. By drawing a rectangle on the map, the user can get the terrain elevation chart to check whether a planned route uses roads that are too steep or can find the best way to reach an area using the automated valley detection and terrain-gradient displays.
Your applications can display maps that drill down from worldwide views to street views without compromising application response time
The Terrain Analysis features consist of:
*Line of Sight between 2-point vertical views
*3D View
*Fly Through (trajectory on a 3D View)
*Area of Sight
*Line of Sight along a Terrain Cut
*Terrain Gradient computation
*Terrain Valley computation
The API
Along with these delivered plug-ins, JViews Maps for Defense provides a full set of APIs for accessing model data, including customer-defined computation algorithms with GUI interactors.
