General Changes

• Support of localized digits and bidirectional text in all GUI components and text rendering elements.
• Adaptation for different languages of various elements, including unit abbreviation, feature types, and many more.
• Web technologies:
  • The Hitmap, one of the important JViews web technologies, has been improved and extended in this release. JViews web application developers can now extend and customize hitmap generation more easily to achieve more responsive interactions. Numerous demos or samples give tips on how to use hitmaps for some advanced interactions.
  • Hitmap support helps you to combine map interactors into a group to improve the ergonomy of the web components. Dynamic map layers also support tooltips and highlighting.
  • Templates are available to format tooltips when moving the mouse pointer over graphic items. You can use the tooltip template to create a tooltip by using either HTML or JavaScript. This technique reduces network traffic and improves web application performance.
  • You can use percentages to specify the width and the height of some JViews JSF View components.
  • JViews web application accessibility improvements. Keyboard accessibility for JViews web applications enables you to interact with JViews image buttons, graphic elements, and more, by using a keyboard.
  • JViews web application bidirectional text support enables you to use bidirectional text for your web applications.
  • Improved event handling, on both server side and client side. JViews web application developers can now install client side or server side event listeners.
  • Introduction of Page Identifier (ID) concept. It is now easier to design a web application so that the user can simultaneously open multiple instances of the same web application in a browser, each page preserving its own context.
  • JViews web application security improvements. JViews web client server exchange protocols have been documented. A mechanism to validate an HTTP request sent to the server has been implemented and can be enabled if neccessary. It is now possible to check the parameters included in a request so that attacks on JViews web application servers can be easily rejected.
  • New cursor change interactor. You can change the mouse cursor when it moves over the graphic elements in a view.
  • Support of Google Maps JavaScript API V3. Since JViews 8.8, Google Maps JavaScript API V3, see http://code.google.com/intl/fr-FR/apis/maps/documentation/javascript, can be used with JViews JSF components. As in previous versions of JViews, Google Maps JavaScript API V2 is still supported in JViews 8.8, see http://code.google.com/intl/fr-FR/apis/maps/documentation/javascript/v2.
  • JViews static layers used with a Google Maps view support tooltips. This feature uses Hitmap technology and is introduced with the support of Google Maps JavaScript API V3.

Use this class to handle hitmap requests coming from the Google View component.

ilog.views.maps.servlet.IlvFacesGoogleViewServletParameterHandlerFactory

Use this class to return the parameter handler for requests processed by IlvFacesGoogleViewServletSupport.

ilog.views.maps.servlet.IlvFacesGoogleViewServletParameterValidationListener

This class is designed to work as the parameter validation listener for requests handled by IlvFacesGoogleViewServletSupport.

  • usesBidiMarkers(): Returns true if in-place editing implementation uses markers, which should be taken into account in hit-to-point and point-to-hit calculations.
