The Hypertext Transfer Protocol (HTTP) is the native protocol for the Internet's World Wide Web. Detailed information is in RFC 1945, which is available at the Web sites listed in the bibliography. Some architectural information on the HTTP protocol as used in the int library is included in Chapter 19. This chapter provides HTTP-specific design information not covered previously. The information in this chapter applies to both clients and agents.
