In Chapter 19, we discussed how Internet protocol replies are captured in a class hierarchy. However, replies may vary within a single protocol to catch additional command-specific information. In particular, FTP protocol replies are abstracted as shown in Figure 24.
Class RWIFtpReply and its derived classes contain an encapsulation of the standard FTP protocol reply messages.
RWIFtpReply holds general FTP replies.
RWIFtpPwdReply holds directory information that is returned by a typical PWD request.
RWIFtpDataReply holds an RWSocketPortal to use for data transfer operations in RETR, STOR, STOU, LIST, and NLST requests.
RWIFtpPasvReply, which is used internally by a PASV request for passive data connection, holds an FTP server's Internet address information.
