To run this tutorial successfully, you must first run the tutorial setup program, tutsetup, successfully. For assistance, see the section on installing the tutorials in the Build Guide, and follow the instructions there.
To run this tutorial on a UNIX machine, type its name, t1, on the command line. If you need to override the default arguments (database type, server name, user name, password, database name, or role), provide them on the command line.
To run Tutorial 1 using the default arguments, type:
t1
To override the default arguments and run Tutorial 1 on a UNIX machine, use a command of this form:
t1 libctl7d.so SYBASE1100 tutor tutor tutor
To run this tutorial under Windows, double-click on the executable file, t1.exe, in the File Manager, or go to Program Manager|File Menu, select the RUN option, and type a command line like the UNIX example above. If you need to override the defaults, use the same method shown in the UNIX example.
