Grouping Graphics

Multiple graphical elements such as lines, boxes, ellipses, text, bitmaps, and legends can be grouped together. A group can be moved, cut, copied, and pasted as if it were a single graphical object.

Grouping Objects

Click the Object Selection button from the button bar the Object Select command from the Edit menu.

Select the objects that you want to be grouped.

Group the selected objects by choosing Edit=>Group.

When the objects have been grouped, the highlighting on the individual objects is turned off, and the entire grouped object is surrounded by a highlighted border.

Moving a Grouped Object

To move the grouped object anywhere on the plot, position the pointer inside the group box, press MB1, and drag the pointer to the desired location.

Grouped objects cannot be individually or collectively resized until they have been ungrouped.

De-selecting a Group

The group box can be unselected by clicking <Shift>-MB1 on the group; however, the grouped objects remain grouped until they are specifically ungrouped.

Ungrouping Objects

The group box must be selected (must be visible) to ungroup the objects. To ungroup the objects, do the following:

If the group box has been unselected (not visible), position the pointer in the group area and press MB1 the enable the box.

Ungroup the objects by selecting Edit=>Ungroup.
