Top Hat Dialog Box (Image Tool)
Perform the morphologic top-hat transform for shape processing.
Structuring Element—A 1D or 2D array or filter object obtained from the Define Kernel dialog box. Elements are interpreted as binary (values are either zero or nonzero), unless the Gray Scale Top Hat option is selected.

note
Use the Define Kernel dialog box to define the structuring element. To bring up the Define Kernel dialog box, choose Filter=>Define Kernel. The structuring element (kernel variable) created with the Define Kernel dialog box is automatically displayed in the Structuring Element list box of the Morphological Top Hat dialog box.
Structuring Element Values—A 1D or 2D array or filter object obtained from the Define Kernel dialog box providing the values of the structuring element. Must have the same dimensions and number of elements as the original structuring element.
X Origin—The x-coordinate of the structuring element’s origin.
Y Origin—The y-coordinate of the structuring element’s origin.
Create New Image—If this option is selected, the processed data is used to create a new image. Enter a suffix for the new image variable name in the text field provided.
Overwrite Image—If this option is selected, the current image is overwritten by the processed data.
Gray Scale Top Hat—If selected, indicates that gray scale, rather than binary top hat, is to be used.
Peak—If selected, the peak detector top-hat transform is performed.
Valley—If selected, the valley detector top-hat transform is performed.
Variable Suffix—If the Create New Image option is selected, enter a suffix for the new image variable name. This suffix is added to the original variable name.
OK—Perform the closing and exit the dialog box.
Apply—Perform the closing, but do not exit the dialog box.
Cancel—Dismiss the dialog box without taking any action.
Help—Display online Help on the dialog box.
