Installation Overview

warning
JWAVE uses an insecure protocol without authentication. This makes JWAVE insecure to use in an Internet facing configuration and would allow an attacker to execute arbitrary code on the server. If you choose to implement JWAVE in this way, you are responsible for the security of those applications that leverage JWAVE.
To install JWAVE, follow the instructions in the PV-WAVE Installation Guide. Additional information on the software installation is in the README file on the installation file. When you install JWAVE, you are presented with the following two installation options:
*PV-WAVE—Installs PV‑WAVE, which includes JWAVE components used for server-side development of JWAVE wrappers.
*JWAVE—Web-based software that allows you to quickly access and understand what your data means from anywhere and at any time. See Figure 8-1: JWAVE Server Directory Structure.

note
Before running JWAVE, you must first run the manager configuration tool by calling manager config from your <RW_DIR>/jwave-3_6/bin directory to check all of the configuration settings and generate the JWaveConnectInfo.jar file in your <RW_DIR>/classes directory.
Directories after JWAVE Installation
The JWAVE installation produces the following directory structure:
