Getting Started

This chapter introduces PV‑WAVE ODBC Connection, explains how to start the module, describes what you need to know to use the software, and provides examples that demonstrate how to import data from a data source into PV‑WAVE.
PV‑WAVE ODBC Connection functions let you import data from ODBC compliant data sources into PV‑WAVE. Once the data is imported, you can use PV‑WAVE to analyze, manipulate, and visualize the data.
This chapter presents examples showing the following PV‑WAVE ODBC Connection routines.
*ODBC_COMMIT Procedure—Saves changes for an ODBC transaction.
*ODBC_CONNECT Function—Connect to an ODBC compliant data source.
*ODBC_DISCONNECT Procedure—Disconnect from an ODBC compliant data source.
*ODBC_EXIT Procedure—Exit an ODBC connection session.
*ODBC_FETCH Function—Initiates a fetch (cursor) operation.
*ODBC_INIT Function—Initiate an ODBC session.
*ODBC_PREPARE Function—Setup a cursor and prepare for fetch operations.
*ODBC_ROLLBACK Procedure—Cancels changes for an ODBC transaction.
*ODBC_SQL Function—Initiate an SQL command.
