Wavelet Dialog Box (Image Tool)
Computes the separable
wavelet transform for an image.
Select from List—Select a 1D quadrature mirror filter from the QMF list. You can use the IPQMFDESIGN function to create the filter.
Daubechies—If this option is selected, specify the number of coefficients in the Daubechies wavelet filter. Valid numbers are: 2, 4, 6, 8, 10, 12, 14, 16, 18, and 20. (Default: 4)
Coifman—If this option is selected, specify the number of coefficients in the Coifman wavelet filter. Valid numbers are 6, 12, 18, 24, 30.
Biorthogonal—If this option is selected, specify the vanishing moments. The vanishing moments consist of a one or two-digit number: the first number specifies the number of vanishing moments in the reconstruction scaling function, and the second number (if present) specifies the number of vanishing moments in the decomposition scaling function for a one moment symmetric/antisymmetric, two moment symmetric/symmetric or three moment symmetric/antisymmetric biorthogonal wavelet filter. Valid values are:
Symmetric/Antisymmetric, one moment: 1, 1,3, 1,5
Symmetric/Symmetric, two moments: 2, 2,2, 2,4, 2,6, 2,8
Symmetric/Antisymmetric, three moments: 3, 3,1, 3,3, 3,5, 3,7, 3,9
Create New Image—If this option is selected, the processed data is used to create a new image. Enter a name for the new image in the Wavelet Output field.
Overwrite Image—If this option is selected, the current image is overwritten by the processed data.
QMF List—Displays a list of 1D arrays and
filter obj
ects. This list is active only when Select from List is selected. The selected variable is also only used if Select from List is active. Otherwise, the indicated wavelet filter (Daubechies, Coifman, or Biorthogonal) is generated and used for the wavelet transform.
Transform Direction—Choose between forward and reverse transformation.
Stages—The number (greater than or equal to 1) of wavelet transform stages to perform.
Variable Suffix—If the Create New Image option is selected, enter a suffix for the new image variable name. This suffix is added to the original variable name.
OK—Perform the transform and exit the dialog box.
Apply—Perform the transform, but do not exit the dialog box.
Cancel—Dismiss the dialog box without taking any action.
Help—Display online Help on the dialog box.
