Morphological Closing Dialog Box (Image Tool)
Uses the morphologic closing operator for shape processing.
Structuring Element—A 1D or 2D array or
filter object obtained from the Define Kernel dialog box. Elements are interpreted as binary (values are either zero or nonzero), unless the Gray Scale Closing option is selected.
note | Use the Define Kernel dialog box to define the structuring element. To bring up the Define Kernel dialog box, choose Filter=>Define Kernel. The structuring element (kernel variable) created with the Define Kernel dialog box is automatically displayed in the Structuring Element list box of the Morphological Closing dialog box. |
Structuring Element Values—A 1D or 2D array or
filter object obtained from the Define Kernel dialog box providing the values of the structuring element. Must have the same dimensions and number of elements as the original structuring element
. X Origin—The x-coordinate of the structuring element’s origin.
Y Origin—The y-coordinate of the structuring element’s origin.
Create New Image—If this option is selected, the processed data is used to create a new image. Enter a suffix for the new image variable name in the text field provided.
Overwrite Image—If this option is selected, the current image is overwritten by the processed data.
Gray Scale Dilation—If selected, indicates that gray scale, rather than binary closing, is to be used.
Variable Suffix—If the Create New Image option is selected, enter a suffix for the new image variable name. This suffix is added to the original variable name.
