Correlation Dialog Box (Image Tool)
Perform indirect (spatial frequency domain) or direct (spatial domain)
correlation between an image and a template.
Correlation Template—A 2D array or
filter object obtained from the Define Kernel dialog box.
note | Use the Define Kernel dialog box to define the Correlation Template. To bring up the Define Kernel dialog box, choose Filter=>Define Kernel. The Correlation Template (kernel variable) created with the Define Kernel dialog box is automatically displayed in the Correlation Template list box of the Correlation dialog box. |
Edge—Choose how edge effects are handled. The Edge option is only available when the Direct Method option is selected. Edge selections include:
Copy—Copies the border of the input image to the output image.
Zero—Sets the border of the output image to zero.
Pad—The input image is padded before the filtering operation with the value specified using the Pad Value option.
Reduce—Returns a reduced-size image that is smaller than the input image by the kernel dimensions.
Pad Value—Enter a value to use to pad the image. This option is available only when Edge=>Pad is selected. Default is 0.
Create New Image—If this option is selected, the processed data is used to create a new image. Enter a suffix for the new image variable name in the text field provided.
Overwrite Image—If this option is selected, the current image is overwritten by the processed data.
X Sweet Spot—Enter the value for the filter window
sweet spot in the
x-direction. This option is only valid when the Direct Method option is selected.
Y Sweet Spot—Enter the value for the filter window
sweet spot in the
y-direction. This option is only valid when the Direct Method option is selected.
Direct Method—If selected, the correlation is performed in the spatial domain using convolution.
Clipping—If selected, the image data is clipped. If deselected, the image is not clipped. Clipping is avoided by setting the output image type large enough to contain the maximum value of the two combined images. This option is only available when the Direct Method option is selected.
Zero Negatives—If selected, all negative values in the result image are set to zero.
Variable Suffix—If the Create New Image option is selected, enter a suffix for the new image variable name. This suffix is added to the original variable name.
OK—Perform the correlation and exit the dialog box.
Apply—Perform the correlation, but do not exit the dialog box.
Cancel—Dismiss the dialog box without taking any action.
Help—Display online Help on the dialog box.
