Surface Attributes Dialog Box (WzSurface)
Use this dialog box to set the surface attributes for the WzSurface Tool view window.
Surface—From the option menu, choose the method by which the surface is drawn. The choices are: Fishnet (mesh), Horizontal (lines in one direction only), and None (no lines appear superimposed on a shaded surface).
Sides—From the option menu, choose the representation of the top and bottom sides of the surface. The choices are: lines on both top and bottom, lines on upper surface only, and lines on lower surface only.
Upper Color—Brings up the Upper Color dialog box. Use this dialog box to select a color for the top side of the surface. If you change a color, the change is reflected in the corresponding color square in the Surface Attributes dialog box.
Lower Color—Brings up the Lower Color Dialog box. Use this dialog box to select a color for the bottom side of the surface. If you change a color, the change is reflected in corresponding color square in the Variable Attributes dialog box.
Skirt—Controls whether a skirt is added to the surface. A skirt helps establish a frame of reference between the surface and the x, y, and z-axes.
Skirt Bottom—This function lets you set the value along the z-axis at which the bottom of the skirt begins. The default value is the minimum z-value for the variable.
Shading—An option menu item that lets you select the algorithm by which the surface is shaded. The choices are: None (no shading), Gouraud, Elevation, and From Variable.
Shade Variable—The name of the variable that contains the shading information. This function is used with the From Variable selection on the Shading option menu.
note | If you want to drape an image over a surface, load the image into a PV‑WAVE variable, and select the From Variable shading option. Enter the name of the image variable into the Shade Variable text input field. The next time the surface is redrawn, the image will be draped over it. |
Light Source—Controls the coordinates at which the light source is placed for Gouraud shading. You can make a new selection by typing over the values that are displayed in the three text input fields and pressing <Return>.
Auto Congrid—Allows faster display of large data sets by resizing surfaces with a dimension greater that 50 using CONGRID prior to drawing the surface. Auto Congrid is enabled by default. This selection only affects the display of the data; it does not affect the actual data.
Scatter—Select this button to create a scatter plot.
Symbol Color—Click this button to bring up the color dialog box, and choose the color of the scatter plot symbols.
Psym Size—Enter a value to change the size of the scatter symbols. The default is 3.
Symbol—Choose the symbol used to mark data points in the scatter plot.
OK—Apply the selected attributes and exit the dialog box.
Apply—Apply the selected attributes, but do not exit the dialog box.
Cancel—Dismiss the dialog box without taking any action.
Help—Display online Help on the dialog box.
