Using measures

Japanese version

Measures are used to specify which item values you are interested in measuring.

Measures are selected by dragging a measure from the list of available measures up to the active measure area:

Measure types

Allocations

The allocations measure measures the allocated or free time for a user over some period of time. For this to work there must be a user dimension present in the chart.

Allocation options:

Option Description
Select time period Here you can set the time period which you are interested in and whether you are interested in allocated time or free time.

The allocated time for a user is the number of hours allocated to that user in the chosen time period, only considering tasks that passed the chart and measure filter.

The free time for a user is the total available time the user has during the chosen time period minus any scheduled tasks that do not pass the chart and measure filter. This should be thought of as the time the user has available to work on tasks passing the chart and measure filter.

Select filter by report Add a report to your measure in order to filter out specific items.
Scale final value by Lets you multiply the measure value.

Burndowns

Sprint and release burndown data is available via the Release and Sprint burndown dimensions. Since burndown data is recorded over time the historical data dimension is required for burndown dimensions to work. You can use the historical data dimension to control the date range and quantization of the displayed burndown data.

Burndown options:

Option Description
Select burndown Choose which burndowns to include in the measure.
Work remaining, Points and Estimated days Select the type of burndown.
Scale final value by Lets you multiply the measure value.

Number of items

The number of items measure counts the number of items in each group.

Project columns

All project column measures share the same set of options:

Option Description
Filter Add a report to your measure in order to filter out specific items.
Aggregation options Sum
Average value
Smallest value
Largest value
Scale value by allocation This allows your chart to take allocation percentage into account when measuring work remaining.
Scale final value by Lets you multiply the measure value.

Sprint allocations

The sprint allocations measure counts the total amount of work hours allocated per sprint. It is recommended to use this measure with the users or user groups dimension.

Option Description
Filter Choose which sprints to include in the measure.
Scale final value by Lets you multiply the measure value.

Sprint capacity

The sprint capacity measure counts the total amount of available work hours per sprint. It is recommended to use this measure with the users or user groups dimension.

Option Description
Filter Choose which sprints to include in the measure.
Scale final value by Lets you multiply the measure value.
