Installation Methods

Packages for Helix QAC and the Compliance Modules are available in two formats: Dedicated Installers and Basic Archives.

Dedicated Installers

These are the preferred method of installation. They allow the installation location to be specified and provide post installation tasks such as creating GUI menu entries, updating registry settings, updating installed_packages and/or installed_components.ini. They can be run from the CLI and GUI. Most interactive users will want to use this method.

Basic Archives

These are basic archives (ZIP format for Windows, TBZ2 format for Linux) and the user can extract them from the CLI into the current location. No post-installation tasks are performed, but depending on how/where they are installed, none may be needed. This method of installation is more suited to automated installations.

Installation of the software results in automatic acceptance of the license agreement.
