Installing the Perforce QAC Eclipse

Once you are sure that all the software detailed in Software Components is installed on the machine, open the required IDE.

If it is the first time that you have opened the IDE, you will be prompted to select a workspace for your projects (to prevent this prompt in the future, select the check box Use this as the default and do not ask again).

Go to Help > Install New Software...

In the newly opened Install dialog, click Add.

The Repository archive dialog is displayed

In the Repository archive dialog, select the Archive option, browse to the required, zipped version of the plugin, click OK, and the path is inserted in the Location text box.

Although the Name entry field can be left empty, it is advisable to specify a name (for example, "Perforce QAC"), so that you can easily identify the plugin among the software packages installed.

After the Name and Location entries have been specified as required, click OK , to display the Install dialog.

Before you continue the installation process, the following should be selected/cleared:

  • Select Perforce QAC for Eclipse check box.
  • Clear the Contact all update sites during install to find required software check box.

Click Next and proceed to completion of the installation, at which time you will be prompted to restart Eclipse.

If Perforce QAC is not installed on the current machine then, after Eclipse has restarted, an error pop-up message will be displayed to prompt you to install it.
