Downloading and Installing SVN

Downloading Subversion

These instructions cover the simple case of downloading and installing the vanilla version of Subversion for ease of use and setup. Subversion binaries are alternatively available in PiExtras at: /usr/share/mdx/products/piextras/svn/current/bin.

1. To download, go to the Wandisco website for Subversion. http://www.wandisco.com.
2. Click on the download link here.
3. Find the version of Subversion for your operating system and click the download link. Fill out your email and Company Info and you will be emailed a link to follow to download Subversion.

Installing Subversion from Download

1. Open your email and click on the link; that should download the installation script.
2. Run the script as root and follow the instructions on how to install Subversion correctly.

3. Make sure that your unix path is set to include the subversion directory that contains the svn executable.
   

   csh: % set path = ($path <svnInstallDir>/bin)

   bash: % export PATH=$PATH:<svnInstallDir>/bin

   The installation directions will display this information.
