Lock the position of 3D models for comment replies

When replying to a comment on a 3D model, you can lock a specific view of the asset to your reply so that a user reading it can clearly see what you mean. For an animated 3D model, you can also lock the time stamp and animation you are commenting on to your reply.

Lock the position of a 3D model for a comment reply on an asset

  1. Open the asset in a project. See Browse projects.
  2. Click Comments to view existing comments, including the user who commented and when. To learn more about changing the comments shown and the asset view, see View comments.

    If the right pane is hidden, click the Show right pane button Image of the Show right panel button at the bottom of the pane.

  3. Adjust the model view to the position you want to show in your comment. If it is an animated model, pause it at the time stamp you want to show in your reply.

  4. To reply to a comment, below the comment, click Reply.

  5. To lock the view settings for your reply, in the comment box, click the dropdown arrow and click Lock with viewer settings.

  6. Animated 3D assets only: To lock the asset at a time stamp, in the comment box, click the dropdown arrow and click Lock with time stamp.

  7. To write your reply, click the Add a comment field.

  8. Enter text in the comment field.

    If the asset view changed while you were entering your comment text, do one of the following:

    • To lock the new asset view to your reply, below the comment, click Update lock.

    • To use the original view you set in step 3, move on to the next step.

  9. Click Reply.

    Your reply is added to the Comments tab.

Lock the position of a 3D model for a comment reply on a bundle item

  1. Open a bundle item in a project. See Browse projects.

  2. Click Comments to view existing comments, including the user who commented and when. To learn more about changing the comments shown and the asset view, see View comments.

    If the right pane is hidden, click the Show right pane button Image of the Show right panel button at the bottom of the pane.

  3. Adjust the model view to the position you want to show in your comment. If it is an animated model, pause it at the time stamp you want to show in your reply.

  4. To reply to a comment, below the comment, click Reply.

  5. To lock the view settings for your reply, in the comment box, click the dropdown arrow and click Lock with viewer settings.

  6. Animated 3D assets only: To lock the asset at a time stamp, in the comment box, click the dropdown arrow and click Lock with time stamp.

  7. To write your reply, click the Add a comment field.

  8. Enter text in the comment field.

    If the asset view changed while you were entering your comment text, do one of the following:

  9. Click Reply.

Lock the position of a 3D model for a comment reply on a bundle review item

  1. Open the bundle review in a project. See Browse projects.

  2. Click the item in the bundle review and click Review Comments.

    Existing comments are shown, including the user who commented and when. To learn more about changing the comments shown and the asset view, see View comments.

  3. Adjust the model view to the position you want to show in your comment. If it is an animated model, pause it at the time stamp you want to show in your reply.

  4. To reply to a comment, below the comment, click Reply.

  5. To lock the view settings for your reply, in the comment box, click the dropdown arrow and click Lock with viewer settings.
