System overview

For Helix DAM, a Helix Core Server securely stores all of your shared assets in a central location and handles version control. Users can easily upload, download, tag, search, and review assets using the Helix DAM web interface.

Only assets stored in Helix Core Server Stream depots or classic (local) depots are available in Helix DAM.

Helix DAM runs on top of a Helix TeamHub installation. Administer Helix DAM using the TeamHub admin web client.

Operating environment

Helix DAM is composed of a number of popular open source components. See System architecture. Helix DAM provides a comprehensive solution for hosting and managing your digital assets. It is provided as a native package, including .rpm and .deb, and can be installed on one of the supported 64-bit architecture Linux platforms.

Administrative account

Most of the Helix DAM services run as a local hth user account, except services that require binding to privileged ports. Full sudo rights are required.

Additionally, Helix DAM provides a special Admin account for administration using the TeamHub admin web client. Administrator privileges allow a user to maintain the Helix DAM installation.
