Branching

Branching provides easy and effective management of source files throughout the development lifecycle. Branches facilitate parallel development, capture the state of files at a specific milestone, and organize repositories and files.

Surround SCM does not impose a branching process on users—your use of branching depends on your company’s needs and business processes. See Maintaining branches for information about advanced branching actions, such as promoting or viewing branch differences.
