Connecting to databases not in use
Before you can analyze databases not currently in use by a Surround SCM Server, you must connect to them.
1. Choose File > Connect Directly to RDBMS.
The Specify RDBMS Connection dialog box opens.
2. Select a Connection Type and enter the Connection Information.
The fields displayed depend on the selected connection type. See the Surround SCM help for details about connection information for each supported RDBMS.
3. Click Test to validate the connection.
The Test Connection dialog box opens and displays the results. If the test fails, double-check the connection information.
4. Click Close to close the Test Connection dialog box.
5. Click OK in the Specify RDBMS Connection dialog box.
The analyze utility connects to the database. You can now perform the analysis. See Analyzing and repairing databases.
