Installing the Helix Authentication Service
Before you can integrate the Helix ALM License Server with an identity provider, an experienced security administrator must download the Helix Authentication Service (HAS), and then install and configure it to work with the identity provider and license server. HAS communicates with the license server and identity provider to authenticate users for access to Helix ALM clients.
See the HAS Administrator Guide for information about installing, configuring. and troubleshooting the service. Contact Perforce Support if you need additional help.
Keep the following in mind:
- If the Helix Authentication Service is installed on a different computer than the license server, the license server must have access to the computer for authentication to work.
- In the license server admin utility, the OpenID Connect and SAML authentication server option must be selected and at least one provider must be configured for authentication to work. See Adding OpenID Connect and SAML providers.
