Protecting and unprotecting builds from deletion

Protect a build to prevent other users from deleting it or automatic deletion if is enabled for the Helix ALM project. If a build can be deleted, you can unprotect it.

You can protect and unprotect builds from the builds list in an automation suite or from the build details.

From the build list in a suite

1. Click Automation Suites in the left navigation area.

The Automation Suites list opens.

2. Click the suite name or number. You can also select the suite, click Actions, and choose View.

The suite page opens.

3. Click the Builds tab.

4. Select the build to protect or unprotect. If a build is unprotected, the Protect button is displayed. If a build is protected, the Unprotect button is displayed.

5. Click Protect to protect the build from deletion or click Unprotect to stop protecting the build so it can be deleted.

From build details

1. Click Automation Suites in the left navigation area.

The Automation Suites list opens.

2. Click the suite name or number. You can also select the suite, click Actions, and choose View.

The suite page opens.

3. Click the Builds tab.

4. Click the build date or number.

The build page opens.

5. Click the Details tab. A shield is displayed next to the suite and build name if the build is protected.

6. Click Protect to protect the build from deletion or click Unprotect to stop protecting the build so it can be deleted.
