Duplicating users and customers
If you need to add a user or customer with the same basic information as another one, save time by duplicating the existing record and then editing the new one.
Duplicated users are added to the same security groups as the original user depending on the security group permissions for the user duplicating the user.
- If the user duplicating the user is in a security group with the Edit Security Groups command enabled, the duplicated user is added to any groups the original user is in.
- If the user duplicating the user is not in at least one security group with the Edit Security Groups command enabled, the duplicated user is only added to groups the original user is in if Only allow users who can edit security groups to add and remove users in the group is disabled for those groups.
1. To duplicate a user, select the user in the Users list.
To duplicate a customer, select the customer in the Customers list.

The user or customer is duplicated and a number is added to the end of the last name. For example, if you duplicate Jane User, a duplicate user is named Jane User.1. If you duplicate a global user or customer, it is added as a local user or customer. You can promote the user or customer to make them global. See Promoting users and customers.
3. Modify the duplicated user or customer and save the changes. See Editing users and customers.
