Add Perforce ALM items from Jira Cloud

In Jira, you can add a new Perforce ALM issues, requirement documents, requirements, and test cases from Jira items and automatically attach them to the Jira item they were added from. This eliminates the need to switch to ALM and to make sure the item is attached to the related Jira item so other team members have the information they need.

For example, if you are working on a Jira item and discover a test is needed for it, you can add an ALM test case from the Jira item. When you save the test case, it is added to ALM and automatically attached to the Jira item.

The instructions on this page are for version 3 and later of the Perforce ALM for Jira app. For instructions on working with ALM items in Jira Data Center and legacy versions of the app (versions 1 and 2) in Jira Cloud, see Work with ALM items in Jira Cloud. If you are not sure about the app version your team uses, contact your Jira administrator.

1. In the Perforce ALM items section in a Jira item, click Add and select the item type to add to ALM.

The ALM Add item page opens in a new browser tab. You may be prompted to log in.

2. Enter or select the item information. See Adding issues, Adding requirement documents, Adding requirements, or Adding test cases.

3. Save the item.

Click Save to add the item to the project and return to the item list. The item is attached to the Jira item you added it from. Information about the item is displayed in the Perforce ALM items section in the Jira item. You may need to refresh the section to see the change. See Work with ALM items in Jira Cloud.
Click Apply to save the item and continue working on it. Save the item when you finish.
