Attaching Jira issues to Perforce ALM items

If your organization uses Jira and the Perforce ALM Jira integration is configured for the project, you can attach Jira issues (formerly known as issues) to ALM issues, requirements, documents, test cases, and manual test runs. This makes it easy to see items that are related between the applications.

For example, if a Jira issue is created based on results of a ALM manual test run, you may want to attach the issue to the manual test run. This makes it easy for other team members to see that an issue was created for the problem that occurred during testing.

You can also create a new Jira issue and automatically attach it to the ALM item it is created from. See Creating Jira issues from Perforce ALM.

1. Click the Jira Issues tab when you are working with an item.

2. Click Attach Jira Issue. You can also choose Activities > Attach Jira Issues.

The Attach Jira Issues dialog box opens.

3. Enter the IDs for the Jira issue to attach. Separate multiple IDs with commas.

4. Click Attach.

The Jira issue is attached to the item and information is displayed on the Jira Issues tab.

If any of the specified Jira issues are not found, an error dialog box opens. Review the information and then click OK to close the dialog box.

You can attach a maximum of 1000 Jira issues to an ALM item. If the number of issuesyou are attaching will cause the item to exceed the maximum, you are prompted to reduce the number of issues you are attaching or detach existing ones before attaching new ones.

5. Click OK to save the changes.
