Working with security group comparison reports

Security group comparison reports include detailed information about command and field security permissions set for groups. You can use these reports to compare permissions between groups and identify if any changes are needed. If you need to a create report, see Adding security group comparison reports.

  • The Command Security section displays security commands a security group can and cannot access. See Security commands for a list of security commands.

  • The Field Security section displays permissions for viewing, adding, and editing fields.

Customizing report content

  • To collapse an expanded section, click the Collapse Section arrow next to it or click Collapse Section. To expand a collapsed section, click the Expand Section arrow next to it or click Expand Section.
  • To rearrange column headings, click and drag them.
  • To show or hide a column, right-click a column heading and select the heading name.
  • Click a row to select it. To select multiple rows, Ctrl+click them. To select a range of rows, click the first row, press and hold Shift, and then click the last row.
  • To mark a permission that needs attention with a Flag Icon, double-click the cell. To mark a permission as reviewed or correct with a Checkmark, double-click the cell again. To clear an icon, double-click the cell again.
  • To highlight specific permissions in the Field Security sections, click the following links.
  • H = Hidden highlights hidden fields.
  • RO = Read Only highlights read-only fields.
  • R/W = Read/Write highlights read/write fields.
  • * = Overridden highlights fields with permissions that override the default value. For example, the QA group has read-only permission for the Summary field for all requirement types. The group has read/write permission for the Summary field for business requirements. The read/write permission overrides the read-only permission and is displayed as Overridden in the report.
  • Depending on the browser, you can print the report, export the data, or save the report to view later.
