Hiding fields

If a project contains sensitive or confidential field data, you can set these fields as hidden in a security group to prevent users in the group from viewing the information. You can also hide fields you do not use but need to keep for historical purposes.

1. Choose View > Security Groups.

The Security Groups list window opens.

2. Select a group and click Edit.

The Edit Security Group dialog box opens.

3. Select an item type from the Field Security category.

4. Select the field to hide in the Add Privileges or Edit Privileges list.

You can hide fields in Add dialog boxes, Edit dialog boxes, or both. For example, you can set the Type field Add privilege to Read/Write and the Edit privilege to Read Only to let users set a Type value when adding items and prevent them from changing the value when editing items.

Fields hidden in Edit dialog boxes are also hidden in View dialog boxes.

5. Click Hidden.

The field is hidden.

6. Click OK to save the changes.
