Setting up RDBMS databases

Perforce ALM projects and the server database are stored in a Relational Database Management System (RDBMS). SQLite is default, native database format and does not require any setup or configuration before or after installation. See About Perforce ALM databases for information about how Perforce ALM data is stored.

Perforce ALM data can also be stored in other RDBMS types, which allows you to leverage your existing database administration process. Microsoft SQL Server (ODBC) and PostgreSQL are supported. See Perforce ALM RDBMS Support for information about supported platforms and database versions.

Review the following information for help setting up databases for use with Perforce ALM.

Perforce ALM License Server data is stored in a separate database. By default, the license server database is also stored in SQLite, but other RDBMS types are supported. See the Perforce ALM License Server help for information about setting up license server databases.
