Attaching files to manual test run steps

You can add attachments to manual test run steps displayed in detail grid view to provide additional information about the actual test results. You can also capture a screenshot directly from a manual test run step without leaving Helix ALM. See Capturing screens.

1. Click the Steps tab when you are editing a manual test run.

2. Click the Add Attachment button and select an option.

  • New file attachment attaches a file that is not yet attached to the manual test run. The Attach Files dialog box opens. Browse to locate the file and click Open.
  • Existing file attachment attaches an existing file from the manual test run Attachments tab. The Select Attachments dialog box opens. Select the attachment and click OK.
  • New source control attachment attaches a source file. See Attaching source files to items.

The attachment is added to the Attachments field and the manual test run Files tab.

3. Click the Capture Screen button to capture and attach a screenshot. See Capturing screens.

To paste an image from the clipboard, right-click and choose Paste from Clipboard.

4. Double-click an attachment to view it.

5. Select an attachment and click Delete Attachment to delete it.
