Getting source files
Note: Source file actions and options depend on the source control application you are using. The following information applies to Surround SCM and Helix Core. If you use a different application, refer to its documentation for information.
Get source files attached to items to retrieve a local copy of a file from a source control application. A read-only copy of the file is created in the specified location.
1. Click the Source Files tab when you are editing an item. The Source Files tab is on the Files tab in requirements, documents, test cases, and manual test runs.
2. Select the files and click Get.
The Get Files dialog box opens.
Note: To get all files in an attached changelist, select the changelist and click Get. The files are automatically retrieved to the working directory.
3. Enter a Location to retrieve the files to or click Browse to select a directory.
If you are only getting one file, the working directory path is displayed in the Location field. If you are getting multiple files, <Working Directory> may be displayed in the Location field or the field may be empty because each file can have a different default location.
4. Select Only show dialog if Shift key is pressed to only display the dialog box again if the Shift key is pressed. Select this option to always use the same options when getting files.
5. Select any additional options. See the Surround SCM help for information about getting files.
6. Click OK to get the files.
