Checking in or submitting source files
Note: Source file actions and options depend on the source control application you are using. The following information applies to Surround SCM and Helix Core. If you use a different application, refer to its documentation for information.
Check in or submit source files attached to items to send changes to the source control application, remove the lock on the files, and make changes available to other users. When files are checked in, the version number increments by one.
1. Click the Source Files tab when you are editing an item. The Source Files tab is on the Files tab in requirements, documents, test cases, and manual test runs.
2. Select the file and click Check In.
The Check In Files dialog box opens.
3. Enter any Comments, such as changes made to the files.
The Comments field may be automatically populated. You can add additional comments.
4. Select Apply comments to all to use the same comment for all files you are checking in.
5. Select any additional options. See the Surround SCM help for information about checking in files.
6. Click OK to check in the file.

The Submit Changelist dialog box opens.
3. Select Keep checked out submits the changes and keeps the file checked out.
4. Enter any Comments, such as changes made to the files.
5. Select Apply comments to all files to use the same comment for all files you are submitting.
6. Click Submit to submit the file.
Tip: You may also be able to submit the file and enter a workflow event at the same time depending on the project configuration and the item's current state. For example, click Submit & Fix to submit a file and enter a Fix workflow event at the same time. Enter the information required for the event and click OK.
