Running individual automated tests from manual test runs (deprecated)

Note:  Script agents for automated testing are deprecated and will be discontinued in a future release. We recommend using Helix ALM's out-of-the-box automated testing support. See Managing automated tests for more information.

You can run a single automated test attached to a manual test run and then manually attach the results to the manual test run.

You can also run all from one or more manual test run and automatically attach the results. See Running multiple automated tests (deprecated).

Note:  The following steps only work if you have a script agent integrated with Helix ALM. See Configuring a script agent for automated testing (deprecated).

1. Click the Files tab in the manual test run that contains the automated test.

2. Click the Scripts tab.

3. Select a file and click Run Script.

You are prompted to confirm that you want to run the test. If run results exist for the test, you are prompted to delete them before the manual test runs.

4. Click Yes.

The Script File Status dialog box opens. See Checking automated test status.

5. Select a file and click View Results to view the run results. See Viewing automated test results (deprecated).

6. Select a file and click Attach Results to attach the test results to the manual test run. See Attaching automated test results to manual test runs (deprecated).

7. Select a file and click Delete to delete the test results.

8. Click OK to close the Script File Status dialog box.

9. Click OK to save the changes.
