Using multiple browser tabs
You can open multiple instances of Helix ALM in browser tabs or windows. Use the browser functionality to open additional tabs. For example, you can right-click an issue summary in the Issues list and open it in a new tab.
Keep the following in mind:
- You can have a maximum of 10 tabs open at a time.
- Do not duplicate browser tabs or you may lose work. Open in a new tab or window only.
- If you use floating licenses, opening Helix ALM in another tab does not use an additional license unless you log in to another project.
- Logging out from a project in one tab logs you out from it in all other tabs. You are not logged out from any other projects you are logged in to in other tabs.
- Using multiple tabs requires cookies. If you use the browser privacy/incognito mode, you may be prompted to log in again.
- You cannot log in to additional areas of a project (issue management, test case management, requirements management) in a different tab if you are already logged in to one or more areas of the project in another tab. If you try to log in to different areas, a message opens that explains you cannot open the additional areas because you already logged to another session. For example, if you log in to issue management in ProjectA, open another tab, navigate to the login page, and try to log in to requirements management and test case management in ProjectA, you are only logged in to issue management and message opens that explains you cannot log in to the additional areas you selected. To access the additional areas, you must log out of the project, log in again, and select all areas you need to work in. If you are logged in to more than one area and log in to fewer areas on another tab, you are logged in to the areas you are already logged in to in the existing session.
Note: Support for multiple tabs requires that HTTPS is configured on the web server hosting Helix ALM Web. Ask your Helix ALM administrator for help if you cannot use multiple tabs.
