Viewing source files attached to items

You can view source files attached to items to locate and work with files stored in source control applications. You may also be able to view additional file information in the associated source control viewer.

Note: You cannot attach source files to items in Helix ALM Web.

1. Click the Files tab and then click Source Files when you are viewing or editing an item.

Source files attached to the item are displayed.

Note: If the item was locked by another user when source files were attached to it, a message indicating pending attachments will be added when the item is saved is displayed. View the item after it is saved to see the attached files.

2. Click a source file path to view additional file information in the associated source control viewer.

Hyperlinks are only available for files attached from a source control provider configured for the Helix ALM project. If source files do not include hyperlinks, you can use the file paths and commit or changelist information to search for content in your source control application.

3. Click Save to save any changes.
