Managing logged in users
You can view the users who are currently logged in to the project and information about the session. Depending on your security permissions, you may also be able to log out users to perform maintenance or other project changes, and send messages to users.
Tip: You can also work with all users logged in to a Helix ALM Server using the Helix ALM Server Admin Utility. This makes it easy to log out or send messages to users across all projects on the server at the same time instead of logging in to multiple projects.
1. Click Administration.
The Admin Home page opens.
2. Click Logged In Users.
The Logged In Users page opens.
3. To send a message to users, select users and click Send Message. If no users are selected, the message is sent to all users in the list. See Sending messages to logged in users.
For example, you may want to send a message to warn users to log out before you perform project maintenance so they can save their work. Messages are displayed in Helix ALM. See Viewing messages from administrators. You will not receive the message if you send it. Messages are not displayed in applications integrated with Helix ALM.
4. To log out users, select users and click Log Out User. See Logging out users.
You can search for a user to easily find them in the list.
5. To lock the project to perform project maintenance that requires project locking, click Lock Project. See Locking and unlocking projects.
