Committing pending changelists
Note: Source file actions and options depend on the source control application you are using. The following information applies to Surround SCM and Helix Versioning Engine. If you use a different application, refer to its documentation for information.
Source file actions included in a pending changelist are not performed until the changelist is committed. You can commit a changelist attached to an item to send file actions to the source control application and update all files at the same time.
You can only commit changelists from issues, requirements, and test cases.
1. Click the Source Files tab when you are editing an item. The Source Files tab is on the Files tab in requirements and test cases.
2. Select a pending changelist and click Commit Changelist.
The file actions are performed in Surround SCM.
- If all actions are successful, the changelist is changed from pending to committed.
- If an action fails, an error is displayed. Correct the error and commit the changelist again.
See Viewing source control changelists for information about viewing committed changelists.
You can only submit pending changelists from Helix VCS clients.
Depending on the configuration, you may be able to attach changelists to items when submitting them from Helix VCS clients. See Attaching changelists to items from Helix VCS clients.
