Deleting workflow states
You can delete a workflow state if it is not used. If items are currently in the state or the state is referenced in the history for an item, it cannot be deleted. For example, you may need to delete a state if you add it by mistake.
Note: If a state is still used in the project and you do not want users to access it, inactivate it. See Inactivating workflow states.
1. Choose Tools > Administration > Workflow.
The Configure Workflow dialog box opens.
2. Select an item Type.
3. On the States tab, select a state and click Delete.
If the state is used as a resulting state for an event, it will no longer be available as a resulting state.
4. Click Yes to confirm the deletion.
The state is deleted.
