Upgrading Defect Scribe

When Defect Scribe starts, it automatically checks for new versions available for download. If a new version is available, the Download button is displayed in the top right corner of the application. You can download the new version, view the release notes, or skip the upgrade.

Note: Before upgrading, check the system requirements to make sure the computer has the required space, memory, and other resources to run efficiently.

1. Click the Download button and choose an option.

To download the new version, choose Download <version>. Select the location to save the installer and click Save. Click Yes when you are prompted to close Defect Scribe and install the new version. The installation automatically starts.
To view the release notes, choose View release notes. The release notes open in the default browser.
To skip the upgrade, choose Skip this upgrade. The button is hidden until the next version is available.

Tip: You can also choose Help > About Defect Scribe to manually check for upgrades.
